The one of a kind Chevrolet Corvette is a sports car manufactured in six on going generations by the huge General Motors (GM) since 1953.The Corvette's first year of production. At the time of its introduction to the public it was America's only two-seat sports car, and for several decades was unchallenged as the premium domestic sports car of its day.
The first 1953 Corvette was designed by Mr Harley Earl and named by Mr Myron Scott (both car enthusiasts) after the fast ocean ship of the same name. It was first originally built in Flint, Michigan and then in St. Louis, Missouri. It is currently being built at the General Motors assembly plant in Bowling Green, Kentucky where they also have a huge Corvette museum. The National Corvette Museum and annual National Corvette Homecoming which is also located in Bowling Green, celebrate the car's history with special events and daily tours.
From personal experience there is nothing like a shiny new Corvette setting in your garage or out cruising on a warm summer day down the famous Route 66. Corvettes for sale include both used and new at some great prices and discounts.
Starting from the first Corvette of 1953 (if you can find them) when they sold from the factory for just $2,774. Ouch! However the new Corvette for the power, performance and beauty is still one of the cheapest sports cars in the world.
